Benaaf Dadachandjee; with husband Norman Hou in the show
Baa Bahoo Aur Baby actress Benaaf Dadachandji, last seen in Sapnon Ki Chhalaang (2023), says food has always been central to both her personal life and her relationship. Married to entrepreneur and chef Norman Hou since 2019, Benaaf said, “My husband is an entrepreneur and also a chef who makes excellent Chinese and Indian food. It was our passion for cooking and food that brought us together,” she says. “We were introduced by a common friend and since we loved eating out, we became friends. After dating Norman for 10 years, we finally got married in 2019.”Their shared interest in food eventually led them to participate in the upcoming MasterChef India Season 9. “He had been getting offers for years, but when the show invited jodi participants this time, we felt it was the right moment,” she says. However, cooking as a team proved to be very different from cooking at home. “If we cooked together at home, I don’t think anyone would have anything to eat at the end of the day,” Benaaf laughs, adding, “At home, we cook independently. Norman loves Chinese food, and I enjoy Italian and Thai.”Benaaf also speaks warmly about navigating an intercultural marriage. “Norman is a very solid human being and extremely supportive of his family. I never had a problem getting married to a Chinese guy. We both adapted to each other’s cultures and family traditions,” she says.On the professional front, the actress is keen to return to fiction television. “I want to do strong roles and am open to films, OTT or TV. It’s been two years since my last fiction show, and I hope to return soon,” she adds.
